CHICKEN TANDOORI

INGREDIENTS

  1. Chicken Drumstick – 3
  2. Lime – 3 Tbsp
  3. Chilli powder – 2 Tsp
  4. Coriander powder- 1/2  Tsp
  5. Cumin powder – 1/2 Tsp
  6. Pepper powder – 1/2 Tsp
  7. Turmeric – 1/4 Tsp
  8. Garam Masala – 1/2 Tsp
  9. Ginger garlic Paste – 1 Tsp
  10. Yogurt – 3 Tbsp
  11. Oil – 1 Tbsp
  12. Red food colour – 1 pinch
  13. Kasoori methi leaves – 1 Tbsp
  14. Salt to taste

PRE-HEAT YOUR OVEN AT 220 DEGREE C

  • Clean the drumsticks and make slits . Make slits on both sides.

  • Add 1 Tsp chilli powder ,salt to lime juice. Mix it well.

  • Apply lime mixture in between the slits an keep it aside for 30 minutes.DSC_0723DSC_0724
  • Now take a bowl and mix Yogurt , Chilli powder (1 Tsp), pepper powder,  garam masala, kasoori methi, food colour, oil, coriander powder, turmeric, cumin powder and salt. We added some salt earlier to the lime mixture so make sure you add the right amount of salt.

  • Apply yogurt paste all over the chicken and in between the slits also.

  •  Keep it inside the refrigerator for minimum of 2 hrs. Marinating overnight makes it more tasty.
  • Using foils to baking trays makes cleaning easier.
  • Cover the tray and grill using silver foil.

  • Now place the grill on top of the tray and make few cuts on foil to drain the excess water from chicken while baking.
  • Place the drumsticks and bake it for 20 minutes.

  • After 20 minutes turn the drumstick to the other side and bake it for another 20 minutes.

  • To get the perfect tandoori look bake the chicken on broil mode for 2 minutes each side.
