PALAK PANEER
INGREDIENTS
- Paneer – 500 gm
- Onion – 2 small
- Tomato – 1 Large
- Palak – 1 Bunch
- Cumin seed – 1 Tsp
- Chilli Powder – 1 Tsp
- Coriander Powder – 1 Tsp
- Garam Masala – 1/2 Tsp
- Garlic – 4 Fine chopped
- Sugar – less than 1/2Tsp
- Kasoori methi leaves – 1 Tbsp
- Milk – 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
- Ghee
- Oil
- We need to blanch the palak first. Add sugar to water and turn the flame ON.
- Add the palak leaves and cook.
- Do not close the pan with lid it will end up changing the colour of palak.
- Once the palak is cooked drain the water and let it cool.
- Transfer to a blender and make a fine paste.
- Add ghee 2Tsp to a pan and add cumin seeds and fine chopped garlic. ( I used oil 1 1/2 Tsp and added 1/2 Tsp ghee at the end)
- Saute it for a minute or two and add palak paste.
- Cook it on low flame until the palak gravy turns thick.
- Now take another pan and add 2 spoon oil and add onions.
- Add a pinch of salt and saute onions.
- Now add tomatoes ,chilli powder coriander powder ,garam masala and salt.
- Mix it all well and cook until the raw flavours of masala disappears.
- Add kasoori methi leaves and stir well.
- Add paneer and palak gravy.
- Mix it well. Add 1/4 cup milk . You can also add cream instead of milk.
